I have downloaded the various guides and programmes from here for capturing video onto SVCD. However, the one overall problem I have is the quality of the picture on my TV card.
Basically, I get "banding" diagonally across the screen, and just cannot seem to remove this. Although I have gone back to my PC manufacturer (Gateway) and Hauppauge themselves I still haven't managed to solve this.
Has anyone else on this forum had a similar problem? If so, how did they solve it?

Yes, I have a WinTv Go card - in particular a PAL card that I used to capture PAL tv transmissions and PAL VHS. I find rolling lines appearing in scenes with blue or mauve. It is very annoying. I have managed to reduce saturation in WinTV2000 to lower levels (when capturing) and use TMPGEnc to increase colour to obtain a less "muddy" looking MPEG1 result.
Others have suggested solutions to my problem:

Hope this helps. -
Thanks - that is helpful and I will give it a try! The lines I get seem to be yellow-green!
It was suggested to me as well that this could be an earthing problem?
