welkin dvd player does it play vcd?

im gettin a few vcds for my mate, but the only details he can give me about his dvd player are that its welkin and has the number 020615385 on it i cant find any hacks or info on any welkin player on this site any one help me? does it play vcd? or is the a vcd hack for it?

A friend of mine received a Welkin T-313 as a birthday present from his mother and father, which I presume was bought from Woolworths in the UK. I have tested many of my discs on it and they play perfectly and the player did not need hacking first.

I tested:

(1) VCD

(2) SVCD

(3) X-VCD (bitrates upto 2097200 bps and higher at 720 x 576 resolution)

(4) X-SVCD (bitrates upto 5000kbps VBR at 720 x 576 resolution)

(5) CD-ROM's with MPEG 1 & 2 files

(6) MP3's


All the discs I tried were done for my Dansai 1010 DVD player and mine has a reputation for playing absolutely anything. The Welkin played all these discs perfectly also.

The Welkin seems to be a real bargain at only £50 and unlike my Dansai 1010, it has an LCD display making mp3 selection much easier.

does it play vbr mp3 ? it sounds like my type of player. Also what about cdrw ?

Yes it plays mp3 and CDRW discs, infact it plays everything apart from DivX avi files. I don't know if it plays discs with jpeg pictures but you never know.
