I installed DVDinfopro and DVDidentifier in XP system. But both did not show my media code at all. Any idea?

Many (old) DVD writers can't check the media code on blank DVD+R/RW media so if the media code is not displayed you may need to burn something on the disc first.

I had a similar problem. I had my writer hooked up to a PCI Promise ATA133 IDE card. When hooked to this card using DVD identifier it would not show a media code of any DVD disk either + or -, burnt or blank . When the writer was hooked to the motherboard IDE slot DVD identifier would show the media code.
