  1. My name is barnabus; I'm 67 years young, and in bad need of help. Hold it DON'T LOG OFF it's computer help I need.
I'm somewhat house bound so I'm keeping myself busy learning, new things, as much as possible and computing sure offers new things to learn.
I am able to download movies off the internet but they want play on my dvd player. Reading every article I could find that pretains to this it appears they need to be encoded to a dvd format. I have installed the latest version of TMPGENC and did my best to figure how to use the program but to no avail, I'm totally lost. I know mycomputer is equipted to run TMPGENC so thats no concern.
Is there a good smeritain out there that would be willing to write me a step-by-step set of instructions on how to encode the movie files so they will play on a dvd player. It can either be posted on this forum or e-mailed to me. If it's e-mailed maybe I could get the return e-mail address just in case I get in trouble following the directions.
I'm trying to do this solely for the interaiment of my wife and myself no other reason.
I have some doubts about my dvd player. I'm hopeing my son and daughter will get me one for my birthday (April 4th). In reading information on this forun it appears the Lite-on LVD 2002 is a good one to have. They sure hard to fing I've tried everywhere thats been suggested but no luck. Can anyone tell me where it nay be found.
I hope I haven't babbled too much but any heklp would be geratly appreciated.

    Thanks:
    Barnabus

    Barney,
    I would start here https://www.videohelp.com/guides.php?howtoselect=4#4
These are the steps to convert your film. There are a number of other useful guides that many fine authors have taken the time to write. Just check out the options in green to the left side of the screen..

Hmmm - I would expect better spelling skills from a 67 year old.

As stated ALL guides to left .
You are better suited to a video card with TV out & DVD recorder , such as the Panasonic DMR series.

  4. Thanks Mr Smith and Holistic I will surely be reading and trying to figure it out.

I have downloaded the codecs that was suggested. How do I determine if they are where TMPGENC can use them.

  5. I've tried to locate a Lite0n lvd 2002 dvd player but have had no luck. Today I was informed it is no longer in production and is obsolete. The 2010 has replaced the 2002. Has anyone evaluated the 2010? What are the major differances? Is the differances worth the additional price (about 35%)?

    Thank
    Barney
