    i would like to know what would be the best tool for me to be able to create
    a nice looking menu for a SVCD with a sound track in the background (a mp3 or a wav file)

    Most SVCD authors that can use an image file as background, should also be able to use a video file. In that case, in tmpgenc, just put your image file as video source and background audio file as audio source. Remember to use the resolution of 352x288/240 or 704/576/480 for the image.

    isn't an image is suppose to have to side so there for 2 dimensions ?

    Sorry for the misunderstanding! What i mean is:
    NTSC svcd valid menu res: 352x240 or 704x480
    PAL svcd valid menu res: 352x288 or 704x576

    Hope you understand the process of making the no-image-videofile!

  5. How come it is not the same size of the actual video ie 480*480 for a svcd ntsc ?

    I understand the process of creating a video from a jpg and avi
    but how can you define if you want this video to be 1 minutes long ?
    s it going to be the same lenght of the audio file ?
