  1. Does anyone know of a free or shareware program that can capture screen shots in AVI or MPEG2 format to JPG or BMP ? DVDInfo only works if you buy the license. Thanks.

VirtualDUB can do it, just copy selected frame to clipboard and then paste into image editing program.

Erm, am I insane or does 'print screen request on your keyboard' not take a shot?
I know it only works for either avi or mpeg2 (can't remember which), but it's what I use.
I then open PSP7 and hit 'paste', and then save as (*.jpg).

PowerDVD, and WinDVD will let you take screen shots, and I think they have free trials...

Otherwise you can use VirtualDub, or VirtualDub MOD/MPEG2, select only that frame, and save as an image.....
