hello,
seen quite a few posts ref copying dvds and they all stay never copy on the fly.
can somebody tell me the reason?
is there a quality issue between both methods.or some other reason.
sorry if this has been asked before ,but i could only find posts saying not to do it

Since a DVD is a "disk at once" burn, if your DVD-ROM can't keep up with your burner, and your buffer underflows, then you just might end up with a "coaster".
That said, I copy DVDs (from DVD-Rs) on the fly all the time. I have yet to create a "coaster" because of this. Just don't overtax your system while burning.ICBM target coordinates:

thanks for that,
i have tried both ways and had no problems on either but wondered if i was missing something.

One thing if you are doing an on the fly copy and the master disc has unreadable errors then you`ll get coasters for sure.Thats one reason not the copy on the fly and make an image file first to see if any errors will pop up.
