I'm posting this here because:
I'd like to create a slideshow of pictures I've taken with my digital camera and put them on dvd disk......and/or you have problem deciding what section your post should be in
I've had a look around and the guides here all seem to provide the ability to do this on vcd, and none appear to be simply just pictures only.
I don't mind sticking them on a cdr actually.
Can anyone point me to a guide for a simple slideshow (one where I can scan through the pics and stop at a particular one, maybe even rotate it perhaps?) for either vcd or dvd?
Software would ideally be freeware, although I have the typical dvd software (Pinnacle Studio 8.10, TMPGEnc Plus, Ulead Movie Factory etc.)
Many thanks,
Will
EDIT: 24 Feb 2004
I've edited the thread title to include the software I plan to use![]()

I have tried Ulead Picture Show 2.0 and it's easy and the results are good on both VCD or DVD. One thing to remember when making a slideshow on VCD is that VCD allows still picture of reolution 704x576 (PAL) or 704x480 (NTSC) but the video resolution is a quarter of that. If you enable transition effects the slideshow will be encoded as video and you'll get 352x288 or 352x240 resolution but if you disable the transitions in Ulead Pictureshow 2 then you get the full resolution!
So I make my slideshows on VCD without transition effects because I won't get any better quality on DVD and I can still fit more than enough pictures on one disc.
It is also possible to make SVCD and DVD slideshows with Ulead Pictureshow 2 and if you are going to use the transition effects you better choose DVD or SVCD.Ronny -

Will,
Why don't you make your Slideshows in Pinnacle Studio? Your Digital camera should shoot pictures that are already 4:3. You can easily import them into your Timeline and add whatever transitions come with Pinnacle. You can also add Music or naration if you want.
I make all my Slideshows with Premiere and they come out absolutly outstanding. As long as you have a half decent Video editor, there is no reason to use a slideshow App.Got my retirement plans all set. Looks like I only have to work another 5 years after I die........ -

Can anyone suggest how I change the duration of how long each picture is visible for, using Pinnacle Studio 8.10?
I guess I can drag all pictures into the timeline, and then create a menu for each period, for instance a menu for each month (Feb 2003, March 2004 etc.), right?
Absolutely no different than if I was working with footage I guess.
