    Is this a repost question?

Anyways, you can do this with WinDVD recorder, UleadDVD movie factory 2 and NeoDVD. I tested them with LG-4048 (8X multi DVD writer)

WinDVD can direct capture and record D1 movie (9MB VBR) or any acceptable profiles to DVD-RW/+RW in DVD/-+VR mode. You can then playback this DVD in your DVD player.

Ulead movie factory 2 can direct capture and record DVD profiles to both DVD-RW/+RW in VR mode or what they call it fast editable DVD-Video mode. This fast editable includes all menus, backgrounds and sounds.
Once you capture and record the movie you can playback in your DVD player (without rerender). You can also use Ulead Movie Factory2 or Video Studio 7 to edit that disc to change menus, background sounds and images or to put text on menus.

Doesn't WinDVD capture non-interlaced only? I seem to remember once asking if there was a way to have it capture video interlaced...

  5. You guys sure you can cap on the fly using a dvd-rw? Won't the result come out all messed up because the burn speed is slower when it comes to rewriteables? And, what's the maximum amount of hours one can cap for on a rewritable capping this way?
    thanks
