Finally figured out color caps and what do I do?

I just capped the Maltese Falcon from satelitte TV. Using picvideo mjpeg and wanting to convert to DVD.

It's in B&W, and I noticed on my PC the the black is too black, so I know something is up. (Contrast?)

    I'm using TMPGenc to convert.

I checked out the guides and a search. No real guide info about this. And search was not clear on how to proceed with b&w.

"Output YUV Data as basic YCbCr not CCIR601" Would you check or uncheck it for b&w conversion?

I also noticed that there were color corrections in the 'advanced settings' on TMPGenc that control contrast. Are these the only adjustments I use?
Looks simple enough, but I'd rather not muck it up if someone knows what to do.

  2. you might want to use caution when using your pc screen to visually judge video.

using a rw disk, you can burn a short clip of some of the scenes in question , play same on your set top player and then decide.
    Always check helpfiles/instructions before leaping...
