what discs can we use or have been proven to write at 8x although they are not certified 8x discs
Ive got a 107 on the way and have read the hacked firmware will write some 4x discs
Any info would help!

My Arita 4x DVD+R burns at 8x with my plextor 708A, no firmware upgrades needed.

most variants of RICOH discs do, i.e. TDK+, a diminishing amount of memorex+ (although the 100 print top packs from amazon.com, see my thread on these, seem to be 8x compatible), maxell+. most aritas that the person before me mentioned are these same RICOH discs. i am unsure of others.
