  1. I have a Pentium IV with VIVO graphic card (Ti4200). Video acquisition from a Sony Hi-8 Camcorder (S-video connection) gives bad result with Virtual Dub (systematic 20 % frame loss, whatever the picture size / no possibility to go over 16.666 frames per second / avi file generated hard to be read depending on the viewers).

It is working good with Asus VCR.

I have read several posts but none seem to correspond.

    Any hints to proceed ?

Among my questions, is VirtualDub compatible with this Philips chip ? Is there any other tool I can use with good capturing possibilities ?

  2. you might look at ScenalyzerLive

there is a trial version available.

Also look into getting another larger hard drive for your computer - video files take up a lot of space.
