  1. Maybe I'm having a brain fart here but here goes.

I'm using ATI AWI 7500 with MMC 8.8. contrary to problems other have had, it works fine for me.

Ok, so I had no problems with capturing sound when I set the cables up as "line in" to my on board audio card. But I want to use this card because it's better and I use it for all my other audio work on this machine.

I currently have the 1/4 inch jack that normally plugs into the "line in" of the sound module, adapted and pluged into the analog line in of my MOTU Audio card. Should work right?

Of course I did all the installation and all my other audio programs (pro tools, Cubase, Windows media and many others) recognize the card (MOTU 2408) as and I chose this card in the control panel as my primary audio card.

When I play MP3 files in MMC, they sound great with this card. When I play a CD I get (audio people will understand) this siren sound which means complete unrecognition of the audio signal.

Of course the audio portion of "set up wizard" (or hag as I calll it) is so user friendly (cough) that it doesn't let you choose a device -- only line in or analog connecter ect. I have it se on Analog connecter.

So the MP3's play fine in MMC (so it is sort of recognizing my card). But I get no sound from the TV and the CD audio which plays on every other program, gives me the siren sound.

With this cable set up, I play DVD, CD's MP3's -- basically all my audio through this card. Except I can't caputre Audio with it with MMC.

I am going to try other capture programs in a few minutes just to check it out but I was thinking there is something really stupid that I'm missing and hoping someone might have the answer. TIA

Have you disabled your on-board audio in the bios?
