  1. just got into the dvd writer thing ( 2 discs so far ) , Im using Pegasus DVD Authur which is great ( lacking in some areas, but for simple use 10/10)authored 2 discs using the same files( experimental to get the full feel of the software) , then done a very stupid thing i deleted the original files, thinking it was reading from the vob files created in the first author
is there an easy way to restore the original mpeg2( converted to mpeg2 dvd compliant files created with tmpgenc plus ), the files were first d/l to the master drive then cut/pasted to a slave H/d, how do i go about/Aid the Recovery of these files..............its taken 3 days to get this far with the files in Q , and then in a moment of madness ( menus..Chapters..etc) i do this, i still have the original avi*3 , but obviously to reencode then author takes a lot of time( i'm also using nortons protect for the Bin but the files were to big so deleted anyway).........should i rip from the discs already burnt then reauthor man this dvd stuff aint hard its only my on stupidity thats letting me down ...........any help
Eh!.......don't know why it's doing that, it worked perfectly well on my system !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. You said you already made 2 copies of the files on DVD, right? Just use them... It's easy.

DVD Author converted your MPEG2 files to VOB files and put them on the DVD. That DVD is created by you so it is not write protected, it's just plain data, so it doesn't require ripping. You can make a plain old copy with Windows Explorer and copy those files back to your Hard Drive.

I would copy the entire contents of the DVD back to a folder on your hard drive with Windows Explorer. Run Tmpgenc DVD Author and use the command "Import DVD Video" and point it to that folder. The program will import the movie, but not the menus. Those you will need to create again. No big deal right!

If you want your original MPEG2 files back then simply insert that DVD disk you created and DeMultiplex, then Multiplex those vob files and recreate your MPEG2 files from them. Thats simple and fast.

    Good luck.
