Hello, everybody!
Maybe my question is stupid and was answered several times, but I was unable to find an answer. Please help me or point me to the place where I can read about it.
My problem is the following: I bought "unknown" media called Diamond 2.4x DVD+RW and would like to test it if it's safe to use it. The media code for the disk is PRODISC W01. The complete media code is:
00000000 01 02 00 00 92 0F 04 00 00 03 00 00 00 26 05 3F .............&.?
00000010 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 50 52 4F 44 49 53 43 00 57 .......PRODISC.W
00000020 30 31 00 39 23 00 8A 79 6A 02 1A 00 8E 7A 6A 02 01.9#..yj....zj.
00000030 1A 00 8C 7A 6A 02 1A 23 13 10 F0 10 00 00 00 00 ...zj..#........
Is there a way to use something to test it??? I use NEC ND-2500A DVD+-RW drive.
PLEASE HELP!
Thank you very much!
Yours, Maxim.

A KProbe test (works with LiteOn drives)
A Speed Test, Read Error Test (surface scan) with DVDInfoPRO or Nero CD-DVD Speed -
Ok, I wrote data to the DVD and tested it with DvdInfoPro. Compare with image gave no errors, but speed test shown the following:
Read errors: 2226
Average speed: 5.57x
Average data rate: 7330 Kb.
Are these amount of errors big or small? Why image compare was fine and there was reading errors? -
put the full amount of data your dvd blank can hold. then watch the end of the disc.almost all problems show up on the last 25% of the dvd. the outer edge

I wrote the full DVD and then tested the media with DVDInfoPro. The results are the following:
1. Compare with the ISO - Ok, no errors.
2. Read Error Test - I got the followin errors log:
Drive - _NEC DVD_RW ND-2500A
Media ID Code - PRODISC W01
Media Type - DVD+RW
Read Error list
1. Error - LBA = 0022a4b0h
2. Error - LBA = 0022a4b1h
3. Error - LBA = 0022a4b2h
<<< part of the log skipped >>>
23164. Error - LBA = 002304bch
23165. Error - LBA = 002304bdh
23166. Error - LBA = 002304beh
What these errors means? There was no errors when compare the DVD with the ISO image... Do the errors means the DVD media is not so good?
Thanks!
