Hi!
I have some problem.
I consider to burn a DVD with a random TV series. How can i best do that if i have a 4.8 GB DVD and want to create a nice menu, and it's 8 episodes?
I tried DVD Architect but the files expanded from 200 mb, give or take to 1.2 GB, how come?
IS it possible to convert them to .AVI (or any other format) and fit a whole season on a DVD+R, without the file increase in size?
I tried Nero but i was only allowed to do that with a regular CD 800 mb, but not with a DVD.
Can someone please help me out here?
Regards!

You need to do some serious reading to understand what is going on. Basically, you have 8 episodes on a TV series in a highly compressed avi format. You want them on DVD. To do this, you must first encode them to mpeg-2. This does not compress as well as the mpeg4 in your avi files, so the results will be much larger.
If you just dump them into a program and hope for the best, you will get crap.
What is the running time for each episode ? Running time and available spec determines bitrate. Bitrate, by and large, determines quality. Try to fit too much on, the bitrate gets too low and you get crap.
If you want to do this properly, go to the guides section and read up on avi to dvd conversions.Read my blog here.

http://members.dodo.net.au/~jimmalenko/AVI2DVD.htm tells you all you need to know.
Use a bitrate calculator to calculate the bitrate you need to use. Then use an encoder that lets you set your own bitrates. Then author. If in doubt, Google it.
