If you want to remove content from your DVD but are afraid of Ifoedit then this may an option for you instead of playing around with Ifoedit and taking forever to get rid of the crap and also risk upsetting the DVD structure as it results in perfect copies you can playback because all you are doing is inserting a small blank frame into the cell retaining the original DVD Vob/Cell structure
the only downside to this is you need to buy the registered version of Menuedit (currently $16.50/£10.50) but for the time it will save you, you will feel it is worth every penny
Anyone who already uses Menuedit to replace cells they do not want may be interested in this faster method results in perfect copies you can playback because all you are doing is insert a 12 frames blank into the cell retaining the original DVD Vob/Cell structure
I have created 3 macro keys so that the task of replacing a cell is done in a matter of seconds and updating the IFO takes seconds also
If you are interested have a look HERE and it will tell you all you need to know
remember you must have a registered version of Menuedit as the free version does not include the replace cells feature so don't try it with the free version as it will not work
the 1st hotkey replaces the cell without you having to tell it where it is etc which is time consuming as it takes so many mouse clicks to accomplish whereas this method is one mouse click (which is to click the Replace button) and then one keyboard press to actually replace it
the 2nd and 3rd Hotkeys can update the IFO's without having to do it the way it is shown in the guide on Menuedit's site and it's done in two keyboard presses after opening the IFO
I'm sure it can be made faster and simpler with a few minor adjustments to Menuedit and I'm also sure Dimad can sort that out as soon as I can get in touch with him
any comments or questions just shout up but I do hope you enjoy the simplicity of it
I will probably be making other Hotkeys to do more than just replace cells after I have played with Menuedit a little longer as I've only had it a few hours

I agree, you could use those programs and obviously you would have to own them to benefit from it but I don't class them as fully functional removal tools but I suppose they are getting there and the sooner the better
IC8 and CloneDVD do not offer individual cell replacement only complete title removal and regarding IC8 if a VOB ID is cross referenced in another PGC it will also delete that PGC. So if the usually present 0.xx sec VOB ID is the same in all PGC's within the titleset you lose the lot!. I don't know if CloneDVD is the same
IC8 also still unfortunately removes all the VOB ID's from a PGC leaving it completely blankI'm not so sure on the DVD structure still being valid when it does this as fussy players just barf when this happens so I prefer to keep the 0.xx entries or create them
I'm not so sure how CloneDVD works regarding the IFO's but doesn't it just playback grey for the length of the original film?, I may be wrong but thats the last I heard a while ago though. It doesn't offer quality distribution eitherEDIT: I was wrong it does remove the video but also removes all the info from the IFO's
so unless you own those two programs, one which is still unavailable then your DVD authoring options are limited to using Ifoedit. If you are comfortable using Ifoedit, it's simple enough to modify single PGC's or complete titlesets due to some new methods, although removing one PGC of a multiple PGC titleset is not as easy but still possible
This is the only fastest and easiest method I know that will keep the DVD structure valid and give me exactly what I want. Every unwanted cell is replaced with a 0.xx cell so the VOB & Cell ID's stay the same and all that changes are the playback times and sectors
any current processing tool will accept the newly authored DVD so you are not just limited to IC8 or CloneDVD and you will also use it with any new future programs that may arise as it does the authoring job now, so even if development was to stop it wouldn't make a difference
Menuedit is well worth the investment for me personally and I'm sure it will be the ultimate authoring tool very soon once I can get in touch with Dimad but he is travelling at the minute so I'll have to wait -
Sorry to drag this one up
Just purchased Menuedit. Produced a DVD with buttons hiddenGreat Program.
The thing is though I tried to replace a vob with trailers and Intro like at Dimads webby, but the Disc was unplayable from the beginning in software mode with Power DVD. I replaced the vob and intro with a 12k vob from within the Rip. Its probably user error :O
If I use IC8 which I'm purchasing with Pinnacle CD/DVD can i first rip menu buttons with Menuedit then rip intro, trailers etc with IC8 giving me a functional DVD-R ???
I know that this was a problem in IC7 but from what Mackemx saidEDIT: I was wrong it does remove the video but also removes all the info from the IFO's
