  1. Is there anyway to make Canopus Pro Coder read vob files?
    Or what about AVID XPress 3.5?

    Regards

    It officially does not do that,
    But with the following register addon it does!

    Here's the value that needs to be added:
    l
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Canopus\ProcoderContro l

    Add the new dword value:

    ImportVOB = 1

    Works great!

    Just to explain a bit more,
    To create a reg file to enable VOB's import in procoder, do this:
    Open a Text editor
    Paste the following text:

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Canopus\ProcoderContro l]
    "ImportVOB"=dword:00000001

    Save this to a file named procoderVob.reg
    Then you can double click the file to add the register patch.

    Ok, I just tried to convert 2 VOB files one with MPG2 audio and the other with AC3 audio.
    The audio in the resulting files seems to be ok.

    I normally don't use procoder to import VOB files.

    multiplex them to a program stream with tmpgenc with no audio (or with audio - doesnt mater)
