  1. Hello I looked for the answer already but maybe my technology vocab is not good cause nothing made sence.

What I would like to do is download DVD and burn it with my DVD burner/player.

What format do I download? .avi? mpeg?
Once I download and I burn it with a burning program or is there more to it then that?

All your help is appreciated. thanks sooo much.

Download whatever the **** you like. And while you wait read the guides to the left.
DVD (in order to play in standalone) requires mpeg1 or 2.

  5. first off, downloading a movie and then buring it is illegal, unless the movie isnt copyrighted. second. Use the guids to figure out how to burn an avi or mpeg, there are several programs available. do some resarch.

I agree with holistic's post but will be a bit more explanatory - You can download in whatever format you like, but you must end up with DVD compliant MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 files.

If you are fortunate enough, you can download files that are already compliant and so all you have to do is author them. If you download AVIs you need to convert them to MPEG-1 or MPEG-2.

There is a fair chance that you will have to do some conversion of either audio and/or video at some point so you might as well get familiar with the guides to do so at the left. You will also need a fairly handy computer and a lot of time and patience.

    My method is pretty simple:
Convert Video to MPEG-2 format using TMPGEnc.
Convert Audio to MP2 format with BeSweet or HeadAC3He.
    Author using TMPGEnc DVD Author.

Keep in mind that the output will only be as good or worse than the input in terms of quality.
    If in doubt, Google it.
