I have a XVID avi file and the audio is about 10 seconds ahead of the video..I want to convert this to vcd, i know how to do that, but im puzzled as to how to resync the audio then test it before doing anything to be sure. Checked the "how-to's" and couldnt find how to do it.
Is there a good walk-thru on this topic?

So long as the audio is consistantly behind throughout the file you can use Virtualdub. Open your avi in Vdub, go to the video menu and select "Direct Stream Copy", then go to audio and select "Interleaving". Change the "Delay Audo" value to -10000 to start off with. Go back to file and save as avi with a new file name. I recommend using small test clips to start off with so you don't have to output your entire movie for testing. You could also try the preview option but I prefer a hard file for evaluation.

K, so far so good. I went 10000 then tweaked it up a bit. 22 mins into it, where i set my "mark" is now 99% in-sync.
I think...Its not in-sync towards the end, or a few mins more into it...
What do you suggest? Using tmpgenc, then splitting it into parts, making sure its all in-sync? Ill probably do that..
And one more: Is there a way to make the audio come out of BOTH left and right? this clip only comes out of left.
