    You are also new to the forum. I have a question -

    1. Is the downloaded movie a copyrighted film ? If so, it is against forum rules to provide help. If not, is the movie an AVI or MPEG file ?
    If in doubt, Google it.

  3. Go here and look up the movie you want -

    then order it and it'll be yours...you'll save money and lots of time and it's even legal 8)

    The guides have all the information for converting video files. Nobody will give you a personal step-by-step tutorial, especially when you appear to be referring to warez (shared d/l movies). I suggest you do some reading starting with the forum rules.

    Very cool to note that, intsead of judging the guy's behaviour, Bugster pointed him the right direction;

    This forum is not a place to advocate warez, as it also isn't a place to judge other people's behaviour....

    Thanks for the running commentary.

    A number of decisions have to be made - do you want the out put to be VCD or SVCD ? Do you want to be able to play it on a settop DVD player or just your computer ?

    The idea of the forum is to provide everyone with the reading material they need and to ask questions if they don't understand. I would suggest you read the What is VCD and What is SVCD sections to work out what is best for you. When you read a guide, download the programs it recommends and actually follow the guide. Then you will know if it is for you.
    If in doubt, Google it.
