  1. I'm tired of my Philips dvd+r(cmc dye) because they give error in some dvd players, so now I'm going to buy some quality media. I have got a new burne that burn both+r-r. Before I had a Philips that only burnt +r.

There is alot of prety cheap quality media to choose from out there. I hope you guys can give me some advise. Here is a list of media I'm consider to buy.

    1. DVD-R from Ridata ritek G04
    2. DVD-R from Ritek G03 yellow Grade A media
    3. DVD-r from Ritek G04 red Grade A media
    4. DVD-r from Ritek G04 purpel with Ritek log
    5. DVD-r from Traxdata ritek G04

    6. DVD+r from Datasafe 4x RICOHJPNR01 dye
    7. DVD+r from Richoh 4x RICOHJPNR01 dye gold top
    8. DVD+r from Richoh 4x RICOHJPNR01 dye printabel
    9. DVD+r from Ritek purpel Grade A media

All this media cost about 1.5-2$ so the price is prety much the same, but the quality may be various? I don't know if some of those for example can be a grade b media or what other differences there may be, but I hope you can give me some recommendations!

    Hi,

I will go with Ritek G04, but check for a good deal in our forum, I got 4 of Imation 25 pack DVD+R for only $40, and they were made by RICOHJPNR01. This is a great deal and good DVD. Remember only buy pack of 25 NOT pack of 50 because they will be made by CMC.
Be patience when you buy media, no rush otherwise you will regret to buy it later

Basicly all the -R stuff u mention are Ritek manufactured so they are generally very good. I use RiData (Ritek G04) for 4x -R media and they have been really good.

You cant go wrong using the RICOHJPNR01 4x +R media either. I use the Memorex 4x at 8x on my Plex and its proven to be the most reliable media that I'd used.

Again it may depend on what burner u have as to what ultimately turns out to be the best media. I can use most cheaper grade media on both my Plex and Pioneer burners but then U can expect some failures, the question u got ask ur'self is "is the ur time worth more then the little extra cost of getting grade A media as opposed to less grades and having to reburn when some fails?". All the media that u mention can be class as grade A so no worries.

Thats funny because the ridata and and the Ritek G04 wit ritek log is sold in 50 or 100 pack and it's clearly written that those disks are high quality G04 discs so I realy doubt that those are cmc discs!

So if all those discs are grade A there will not be any difference between them? Just buy the cheapest pack?

    Hi Espen,
Oh, Ritek G04 is good nodoubt about it, and yes it is in a pack of 50 and 100

About Imation, you can buy pack of 25 or 50. BUT only buy pack of 25 Imation DVD+R, because I am sure it made by RICOHJPNR01 and it is a great quality, you can get a great quality with a good deal why you have to spend more for the other. That's what I mean
    Cheers,

Normally i would say yes, but u alway take ur chances when u buy any bulk packs, unless u have experience with that batch. There are some counterfeit products that look very simular to to the legit stuff (just use DVDInfopro to check the media codes to the ones posted here). Normally if you get the disk in jewel box single packages even in multipacs they are legit (pirates cant really afford to put their junk in packaged jewel cases). But G04 are normally sold in bulk packs, just make sure where u buy them that they have good return policy if the media is fake and/or crap. A lot of small retailers dont know if the stuff is real or fake (the biggies on the internet shld know) since they get them from their suppliers. But a good indicator is when the price is too good to be true. With most Grade A stuff, the price dont vary much from one retailer to another unless they'r on sale but just beware of the never ending sale. If all things being equal and legit then just get the cheapest media, there is no diff between most companies RICOHJPNR01 (+R) or G04 (-R) regardless whats printed on them.

Oki, I just find it a bit strengh when I check the media list on this site it seems liks some brands give peopel more errors and playback problem than others even if both are ritek G04!

Going back to what I posted earlier "Again it may depend on what burner u have as to what ultimately turns out to be the best media." Some pple cant burn with good media regardless. In most cases the general opion is that the media is good then its good for most of the users. Then u also have pple who post bogus reviews for one reason or another...burned once and it failed so it must be the media, they have a hate for a certain brand that they tried way back so the new stuff must be crap also etc. U get the picture, just choose the media that most reviewers have found worked and not be swayed by the few that say nay.

It's hard to go wrong with RITEK G04's . Currently under $50 for a 50-pack spindle, free shipping and no tax in the US. Try newegg.com , much better customer satisfaction than meritline.com.
