I used AutoGK to encode an xvid with the 'Display only forced subtitles' & 'External subtitles' selected. The preview seemed o.k.
I'm trying to set up my comp as an htpc using myHTPC with WMP 9 as the video player. I've still got to set up the remote, but so far so good.
I'm running the video from the GeForce2 MX200 vc to my H/K 325 receiver over S-Video. The audio goes over a coax s/pdif cable. I then run an s-video cable to my tv. Since the receiver doen't have audio monitor out, there is no audio connection between it & the TV.
My problem is, I can't get the subtitles to display. Is this because there's no audio connection to the TV? Or am I missing a filter?

I'd try a different player, but I think myHTPC uses either WMP or zoomplayer (so far).
I downloaded VobSub but I don't know how to use it. What do you need to do? -
Essentially what Vobsub do is that it will lurk in the background when installed and pop up when a movie is played and display the subs. The thing to note is the the name of the subtitle file needs to be the same as that of the movie ie one.avi (for the movie) and one.srt or one.sub (for the sub) and both files need to be in the directory.
