    When I select Help in menu, message appears saying program cant
    locate file named "Postinstall.htm", and in the long path listed...shows the
    file in "doc/" subfolder of svcd2dvd program folder. This doc folder does
    not exist. I was not asked to register after installation. Any ideas?
    Think the file was to take me to website?

    What version are you running? Is it svcd2dvdmpg?
    SVCD2DVD v2.5, AVI/MPEG/HDTV/AviSynth/h264->DVD, PAL->NTSC conversion.

    Yes...the free version.
    While I've got you , is there any other use for Net Framework that needed to be installed for svcd2dvdmpeg to operate? I'm sure there is , but what?

    Also, am I correct in that to make use of s'2dvd , do I need to first have
    my VHS tapes reformatted to svcd or vcd(?) .

    My endgame is to put 100+ hours of VHS family tapes onto discs, be it
    CD-R or DVD+R.....and easiest way to do that with best quality. Format
    time is becoming a real consideration here I believe.

    I wouldn't worry about the Postinstall.htm file. It just took you to the website.

    .Net is used for .Net applications. So yes, other applications may require it - and now you have it.

    Yes VCD or SVCD format is expected by SVCD2DVDMPG.

    VHS2DVD is not my area but i do know that the key component is your capture mechanism. Cheap cards will give you issues...

    I use the Canopus ADVC card, capture to mpeg (VCD, SVCD or DVD depending what I'm doing) with MainConcept Encoder 1.4 then use SVCD2DVD to DVDR... but thats just me
