Sony players (as with many others) don't play xvcd minidvd etc as their drives are only capable of 2x reading and also the laser used in of a specific wave length correct or not??
If this is the case it would seem logical that you could replace the drive and laser setup and make your player a fast unit which can read a variety of formats.
Has anyone heard of this being done, attempted it, or can provide information on this idea?
I also think a firmware upgrade or something may be needed but I do not know enough about this area.
Thanks
