Hi Guys,
I'm trying to find a great program that will sync my audio & video together.
I have one .m2v file and one .wav file of a concert.
If anyone can help I'd glady appreciate it.

Not sur I understand your question.
You can mux the audio and video with TmpegEnc. -
Sorry for not being more specific.
I have a .m2v video file (NO AUDIO) and a .wav file (AUDIO TRACK)
What I'd like to do is sync them together so the wav file plays correctly with the video file.
Are there any programs that do this?"Hey kids, it's me! Shakes The Clown!" -

I think I understand what you mean. You can do that in Ulead VideoStudio. Just open the m2v file and put it on the timeline. Expand the timeline view to show all the tracks, and bring in your wav file. With this program you can change the video around to try and make it match the audio (like a music video), add transitions, etc. It will also export the MPEG2 file without reencoding (smart render) if you setup the project properties right. Just know the specs of your m2v file and apply them to the project properties. It will encode any transitions and titles though.
GOod luck. -
I tried the Ulead software and when I opened my .m2v file it'd lock up the program.

I've did it several times and just now after reading your post. (I had to demultiplex one) and it worked fine. I suppose the m2v could have a problem and that would explain why Vlead locked up trying to read it but how long did you wait? Large files or files that are hard to read sometimes takes a long time for the program to load. It reads all the way throught the file before coming back.
Why not reboot to clean up your system, run Ulead and go to Storyboard view and try to open the M2V file as 'Import Video File'. Double click the file then give it a few minutes. It might take several minutes to load it. Try that before you panic to much. ok. If that don't work we'll try something else.
Good luck. -
Restarted.
The .m2v is fine, I waited at least 2 hrs. still locks up."Hey kids, it's me! Shakes The Clown!" -
I don't use V7 but have and like V6. V6 loads all the M2V files I can come up with and no problems. I just now downloaded V7 trial and installed it. On the first run I loaded all the M2V files I have. 1 is 378MB, 1 is 175MB and 1 was only 58MB, but all 3 M2V files loaded fine and I was able to drag all three of them onto the timeline.... no problems. The program, either V6 or V7, will open and work with M2V files.
All I can see is either Ulead didn't install properly on your computer, or that M2V file has a problem, or something else I can't think of. You need to test that file with other applications. You can open it with TMPGEnc and try a short encode then cancel to see if the program excepts it and can work with it. You can open it with VirtualDubMPEG and see if it can work with it. If those two programs can use it then the problem is with Ulead. If either of those two can't open or work with the file then I would suspect the file.
Fixes??? I would want to find a way of fixing the file without reencoding. I don't know if simply multiplexing it with a scrap proper length WAV file in TMPGEnc would do it or not. If the file plays good in WMP but won't open in Ulead it's probably just a header error. If this file was from a ripped vob file I could understand the problem and you could just rip the vob again. If it's a captured file then I don't know.
Try opening it up with those other programs and run a few short processes on it to check. If it's from a ripped vob then rerip it.???
Where did the file come from? capture or rip?
I guess as a very last resort I would open the file in VirtualDubMPEG and save it as an AVI and use like Huffy compression. You could then edit the file like you intended. This will require it to be reencoded but would give you an avenue to at least get the file into a usable condition. LIke I said, as a last resort.

If you burned it in that settop box you don't need to 'rip' it, just copy the vob file off the disk to your hdd then demux it with TMPGenc Mpeg Tools. If you actually 'ripped' it then maybe that's the problem. I've had several ripped vob files that would up giving me problems. I would try that first.
In TMPGenc just click "File" "MPEG TOOLS" click the tap "DeMultiplex" "Browse" "Type of file *.*", then find and double click your VOB file. Double click each stream (video and audio) to demux. Maybe that one will open in Ulead.
If the file is good Ulead will open it. There may be a something wrong with the header. You could also try and Multiplex those streams together again into an MPEG file and try to open that in Ulead>>.
You said RIP. Explain that Ok.

I ripped the DVD from the stand alone with DVD Decrypter.
Demuxed the video & audio file."Hey kids, it's me! Shakes The Clown!" -
Try a straight 'copy' command in Windows Explorer and see if you can copy the files off that disk. There isn't any copy protection so that should work.
Let me know. ok -
I tried that, it doesn't work.
I tried DVDAuthorGUI, that didn't work as well."Hey kids, it's me! Shakes The Clown!" -
I don't understand the problem here ...
If you recorded it on a stand alone DVD recorder then ripped it with DVD Decrypter and demultiplexed it to a seperate M2V and WAV audio file then it should be in sync when you go to author it.
So are you saying that you are having sync problem or not?
What DVD Authoring software have you used to put the M2V and WAV back together again?
This whole thread is very unclear as to what the real problem is and what exactly is being used to do what?

The .m2v file consists of two files joined together.
One file was from a VOB of the stand alone recorder, the other file was from a clip of an SVCD file. I put those two files to ONE .m2v.
As for the wav file it's the SAME LENGTH as the .m2v (even down to the milli-second) that I needed for the concert footage.
I tried using TMPGenc DVD Author but when I want to add chapters it only shows 15 seconds of footage.
I want to put the .m2v & .wav together to make ONE DVD-Video file."Hey kids, it's me! Shakes The Clown!" -

SVCD is 480x480
So you got it ... you can't merge them into a single file.
Also you can't multiplex M2V and WAV but you can multiplex M2V with MP2 or AC-3 audio. You can use WAV audio on a DVD but a multiplexed MPEG file cannot have WAV audio.

I resized the SVCD to DVD required length/width and merged it with the stand alone recorder file.
I do have a copy of the audio in .ac3
Is there a way I can put those together into ONE file with out having a seperate m2v and wav file?"Hey kids, it's me! Shakes The Clown!"
