help with audio w ATI AIW VE

thanks to lordsmurf i had decicded to go with a aiw ve since i didn't have 300 bucks to spend for a aiw9800pro, its working but i get no audio
i already connected the internal audio cable to my cd in and still get no audio when i try to change the audio setting for some reason i don't see that audio setup screen. i had seen it once during the 1st run but after that i dont' see it any more. i am currently using the ati mmc 7.9. i have tired to install the 8.8 but for some reason easyview comes in and tells me my drivers are not upto date. so i install new ati drivers and after that i get more problems.
i have also set in the bios to use the pci slot as the primary video as well as in windows. i have spent the last 2 days trying to figure out what the hell is wrong and still no so

any ideas?
you guys are my last hope before i get fustrated and toss my computer out the window or just the video card
