I want to see a new edition of Sizzle. Thats pretty much it. Between the AVX-600, DVDSP to Sizzle to iDVD, my complete lack of interest in DivX, and my hatred of platform specific formats, I think I've got it all covered.
If it isn't broken, take it apart and find out why.

I wouldn't want a video iPod. I like the ipod because I can use it without having to look at it to find my buttons while riding my bike. I would rather bring Evonne's iBook to take videos on trips and watch them.

...One unified CODEC and the end of multiple audio codecs for PCs
    which screw AVI's.

....VLC to go one step further and simply tell you:
"sorry, but some POS on a PC hosed this avi file.
Better to not wrack yourself trying to play it and just trash it."
when it encounters a file it can't play.

...Toast to make a "light wizard option" that allows you
to pick from " themed backgrounds" before making your DVD.

..Apple to stop screwing up good apps it releases ( ie iDVD4).

...I would say something about figuring out a way to make Hades
lock my mac and take advantage of both dual processors to
speed up ripping, but I don't want Ant and Weasel to get mad at
    me, since we made up...

( on another note, I'm jealous because I tried Hades here at work on the Dual 2 G5 and it took like 20 minutes less to rip a 7.3GB DVD it took me
    112 minutes at home!)

...For either Meritline.com or DVD-R posters to get their act(s) together
    and agree to disagree....

    and last,
....to see me finally get around to testing Master tgpo's DVDSP file he made me....I know, I know....

I just want to see VLC or Mplayer able to get full features. An example would be, I have a matroska file, it has like 16 sub files. But, all of them are very well writen .ssa, so they have karaoke, colors, topsubs, etc. but mplayer and vlc wont decode this. VLC doesnt even space them right.

My vision of what a video iPod would look like is the current form factor and function, with a thin lcd panel that slides out the back side. Nothing like a flip phone that would cover the controls...

  18. More movies where Jennifer Connelly takes off her clot.....oh, in video software and such? Not in movies in general?
    I have such a list:
    1. For Mr. Mason to get Sizzle back on the fast track
    2. Major to release an Idiots Only ffmpegX with only the options I want.
    3. A simple to use DVD Authoring prog that will allow me to feed in whatever I want as far as MPEG1, MPEG2, .mov, .avi etc and make me a nice simple DVD.
    4. Monica Keena from Freddy vs. Jason
    5. The obliteration of .asf, .wmv, and .rm as file types, they are all crap.
    6. A software encoder that truly rocks on older machines.
and lastly, I'd love to see Galactica, TGPO, Major, Weasel and all the other helpful people in here get together somehwere, have a hell of a party, and write the ultimate tutorial for the not so tech readers and posters.

i think the easiest one sounds like something that can accept multiple formats and make a dvd or something dvd ready would probably be the easiest on that list...

My friend has an ingenous idea, to get rid of everything, EVERYTHING and starting over. with only 1 format. it would be totally different from DVD and such, but have TONS OF FEATURES! so it would play on everything. Computers, standalone players, portable players, game systems, etc. it would also be able to be burned to ANY form of media. So you can fit one whole movie onto a compact flash card or to a DVD-R type media.

That is, until SuperFormat 2.0 comes out, and they have to break compatibility . . .

  25. I'd like to see DTOX or some other shrink software provide a nice easy interface to create MovieOnly discs *with* menus. Or the ability to pick and choose which "special features" we may want while jettisoning FBI screens, trailers and those "locked" screens with the studio logos and replacing them with a blank screen saying "this crap has been removed".

    That would be Nirvana.

Many beautiful naked women surrounding me at all times :P

How about a real OSX for x86 machines, the choice would be nice.
