I have English version of windows and I got a Russian game where everything is in Russian. I am able to display Russian webpages with no problem but when I try to play the game it's all ??????? ????? ????????. Is there anyway to fix that.

    Slimmx,

I'll send you an e-mail on how to take care of this. It has to do with your default system font setting. I had to do this with mine, as you know I needed Cyrillic support for the obvious reasons, and the Non-Cyrillic (English) version of windows defaults to a different system font and encoding. There's a (relatively) simple fix for this. However, I'll explain it in an e-mail (you'll see why, shortly ).

    Cheers, R

  5. This is what I see on my screen...

Юстас - Алексу: "По полученным сведениям, КГБ не дремлет, милый друг! До встречи в подполье! (PM)".

I do understand the PM part, though.

This is a problem with the board, not with your PC. What encoding did you use in your post above this one? I've never had this happen on any website before, or when typing in any other program, or anywhere. Only on this message board. Were you able to read the cyrillic in my PM?

In your PM I couldn't read the cyrillic, but only the subject line. That has to be a problem with the board, it can't handle KOI-8R encoding, possibly. I can't read my own message I posted to you just now, either. But I can read your prior post. Really strange.

    EDIT:

Never mind - I know your secret. You posted a photo of your Cyrillic text. Sneaky!!!

Maybe we should ask Baldrick why we can't post in Cyrillic. There is probably an issue with the phpBB code that won't handle the Cyrillic KOI-8R or Windows Cyrillic encoding (or DOS or ISO Cyrillic). There is nothing wrong with your PC if you can't read it on here.

However, if you can't read it on other sites, e-mail, CD's, Games, etc. you'll need to change your system font. If you want an easy way, I'll tell you, send me a PM. I have to go to bed now, late and have to get up early tomorrow. I'll answer you tomorrow afternoon, evening.

    Poka!

  8. A photo in this thread? Yes.

But the PM subject line I typed in on the keyboard. And it worked. Yet I can't read your posts or my own.

Makes no sense to me, either.

However, I can tell what you said by the unicode characters. Give me about 5 minutes and we'll be understanding each other just fine...

Unfortunately, I have to go, but let's continue this experiment tomorrow. Maybe we can figure out what's going on...

    Bye for now.

  10. I see Cyrillic fine in every other application. Even PRAVDA.RU looks fabulous. Very strange that you read my subject line, though...

    We must protest this! :P
