pctv tuner recpetion is awful

Hey boys n girls. Recently got pinnacle PVTV. Ive tried the capturing using studio8 and have no probs making svcd's. My only gripe with this board is the tv reception. Not sure if it is supposed to be crappy or not. I had an ati tv wonder pro. Tv was great looking, but it didnt like my computer or nvidia card. Tried the win-tv card and it wasnt bad for tv, but had no s video input for my hi8. TV isnt the most important thing to me but the wife wants it and i cant stand looking at a staticy screen. The software that came with it is awful. Seems to use alot of cpu and is not a/v synced. So I been tryin different things. But the picture is awful. Anyone have any xperience with this card. Is it just this card in general or just this card is bad. Thx in advance. Off to work

If you look for "pinnacle" in capture cards over in the l/h part of this page, you shoulld find user comments for your card type...

I purchased a PCTV Rave just to watch TV on one of my other computers, and it sucks. It doesn't capture at a high resolution, and just watching TV stinks. I only bought it 'cause it was $10 after rebates. I'll be selling mine soon. I know there are other PCTV cards besides the Rave, maybe you got a better one.
