I'm just wondering, if I join several mpgs together then burn the vcd, is there any chance that at those places in the footage where the mpgs were joined, could the film crash, or stop playing, or some other error could occur with the DVD player trying to play it? Not physical damage, but rather could joining mpegs into one VCD result i a coaster?
Has anyone had trouble with vcds and joined mpegs

I use TMPGEnc to cut and join all the times. The only undesired effect is at the "joints", video and video glitch a little. This is very noticeable.
To avoid those, I always cut and joint at the fade out section of the video. Glitches on fade out are not visible.
