    k. i remember reading here some where that someone had called plextor about firmware updates and they said that the next firmware release would enable 8x-R writing...is this true or just a rumour? and if it is true. when's this firmware supposed to be released?

    I think I read the same topic. Someone later said it wasn't true after calling.
