  1. when i play a film encoded in ac3 on my computer the sound is very quite as ac3 is suround sound and i have only stereo speakers so i only seem to get the left and right channels but no centre channel which is the main channel for voice..... is there any program that will let me watch these films in stereo.... i have powerDVD and have selected stereo but the sound is still the same

  2. You can try playing around with the PowerDVD audio preferences; make sure that the number of speakers are set proplerly. If you can't find the setting for the number of speakers, your version os way out of date and you need to get a new version of the software.

    If this doesn't help, make sure that your audio card drivers are up to date and that the mixer and speaker settings are correct.

    If you have the AC3Filter on your pc (which you should have!.... it if not dload it from the TOOLS section) configure it for stereo playback (2/0 format).

    What format vid files are you watching? If avi's use either Zoomplayer, TCMP or BSPlayer as your media player and get FFDShow (for the avi filters etc).
