  1. I am proud ovner of this great player for the last & months, but recently I started to have to problem with watching DVD.At first I though that is because they are DVDR ,but when I check the regular DVD-movies I have same resaults. The player just freeze after about 10 to 20 minutes. To meke the things worse it is happening only with same disks, and I can say that DIVX movies plays with less problems than DVD , but they are also make the dvd to freeze.I updated the firmvare to the newest one 03.01.Anybody have the similar problem?Maybe sombody know what is going on?Thank you

  2. all i can say is that my 2001 (with 0301 beta) recently started freezing and not playing the same divx dvds that it played before. I am thinking about waiting for couple of weeks and then if no 0301 final come out, to flush back to 0229, hopefully, it is not too dangerous to do it.

  3. DON'T DO IT.you will make your dvd unoperable."Note: Once the drive has been upgraded to new firmware, it can NOT be changed back anymore."This is actual worning from liteon web site http://www.liteonit.com/odd/english/english-load-firmware.htm#LDW
I would wait for another firmware.

Latawiec is right - do not try to downgrade! I did and my LVD-2001 became "frozen" at power on and all the button pushing combinations everyone suggested to try didn't work.

I had to send my player back to PC Club. Now, since that model is discontinued, PC Club is trying to get LiteOn to fix it or replace it.

  5. thanks everyone, i will then keep the beta version. I thought I read on another forum that you could re-flush the old firmware but you had to press some buttons on the player and play with the power cord before placing the cd in; maybe i am wrong. In any case I am not taking my chances now, I don't want it to die on me.

Actually I tried to downgrade it to 0229 and then upgrade again several times. Everything is ok.
