  1. Sorry if this has been asked before but, with CloneDVD if you rip out other languages, the compression percentage doesn't change, whereas with dvd shrink it does change. So then if CloneDVD is better quality at for example 80% compared to dvdshrink at 80%, does the difference when taking out some audio tracks (which may make CloneDVD stay at 80%, and DVDShrink become 83%) then get better result from DVD shrink than CloneDVD? Is the unchanged percentage in CloneDVD only a visual error in the program and it would infact do the movie at 83% eventhough it shows as 80%? (note: these percentages are made-up just as a example)
    Any info appreciated - cheers.

Don't know if this qualifies as "info", but there was someone here on the forum a couple of weeks ago who said that he had been told by CloneDVD people that it was just an error in the GUI, i.e. that the program would indeed correctly adjust the compression ratio, but not show the corrected value on the screen.

Really, your best bet for reliable info is to contact CloneDVD.

  4. Also, generally speaking, removing subs is going to have such a minimal impact on your picture quality that it's really a mute point.

  7. Still, error in the GUI or not.. for 50 bucks they should get around to fixing what they claim is a cosmetic error.
