If I try to encode using any Video Codec that lists ffmpeg in it's name, it instantly finishes, acting as if it's done it properly. However, absolutely no video file is created anywhere. If I click the info button, all it says is:
Encoding started on Sat Nov 22 18:33:36 PST 2003
/Users/<my name>/Movies/PC1.mov: Unknown format
No, it doesn't actually say "<my name>", and there are no spaces or anything in it.
All the other codecs work fine. I've run all the installer programs, and I've noticed that if I look at the custom install, it claims it will upgrade 'ffmpegX components' with a 2,359k upgrade. However, after I go ahead and tell it to upgrade, and run it again, it says the exact same thing.
Also, I could've sworn that the last time I used it, I managed to get the ffmpeg codec to work... however, I'm not certain of that, so don't assume that's the case.
I couldn't find any topic about a similar problem, save one where the guy forgot to run the installer. I've tried deleting all the stuff it installs, so I can just install again, but I can't find all the little components, and I don't wanna go around randomly deleting things from the usr/bin directory.
This is really both annoying and freaky. I'd appreciate any help I can get.
