  1. I have gone through the process of downloading movies, splitting them into two parts and burning them to CD-R as VCD.

I now want to burn AVI formated movies to DVD-R in order to watch them on my TV/DVD player.

I can dowload some AVI movies and then re-encode/burn them using NeroVision Express with the DVD plug-in.

    Problem:
Most movies I try to re-encode/burn end-up too large to fit on the DVD-R.

    Question:
What is the eaisiest method to get these AVI files to a DVD
Can I convert AVI to VCD and then burn to a DVD-R maybe

  2. Think DVD2SVCD can do this for you! (Yes... DVD2SVCD, it has a AVI2DVD feature + lot's of other stuff...)

The principle is very much like going from AVI to SVCD. The acceptable bit rate range and resolutions are different, but in principle the same. Just resize differently, and set the encoder differently. The same familiar tools can be used (at least if you used the "right" ones for your SVCD conversions).
The audio has to be A) within DVD audio specs and B) in a format your authoring application accepts.
I've found it easier to encode audio and video separately.

Since it says that you just joined yesterday, I'll give you the benefit of a doubt that you might have ACTUALLY used the SEARCH function or looked at the numerous GUIDES posted here before starting this thread.
    Search is your friend.....
