You have to experience what i'm about to tell you before saying this is rubbish!

I use Virtualdub to frame serve to Tmpgenc, and create very nice SVCD images,
but the important thing is how to set up virtualdub to match it up with Tmpgenc.

First open virtualdub and load avi (dv files), go to video-->filters and load
deinterlace (blend fields), then load sharpen and adjust to 45 (do not go over),
remember use fullprocessing mode. Audio --> Source.

Then start frameserver, save it as video.vdr or anything.vdr, leave it open.

Open Tmpgenc, open SVCD wizard and load (browse) video.vdr, if tmpgenc cant see the file
dont pannic, just go to All files (*.*) . then next--> other settings--> advanced,

double click on simple colour correction, abjust red and blue up to 50, only red and blue
(this is optional beacause I always like my video saturation a bit, you may skip this)

Click ok and go to Audio tab --> unlock sampling frequency and use 48000 (again you may
skip this, only do this if you want to put your final SVCD image on DVDR)

Click OK and uncheck the Auto setting on right hand side of Average video bitrate, and start
to convert. And wait... I guarranty your created SVCD will be excerlent!!

The reason I do all this just because of the sharpen edge filter in Tmpgenc is crapp!
You may also use these steps to make SVCDs from DVD, just ripp, DVD2AVI it,,
then virtualdub,and start from there!
