  1. I've just started looking around at DVD writers. My budgets around £100 and I want the quickest, most media compatable writer which produces compatable DVD's that play back on stand alone DVD players. Can anybody point me in the right direction? Also is there any point in having a writer that supports the DVD RAM format? Thanks.

  2. see l/h column this page and then:

    1) do a search within DVD WRiters for features you want.

2)see Glossary for definition of DVD-RAM

Pioneer and use Ritek G04 disks. As you are talking £100, you must be in the UK. Try www.blankdiscshop.co.uk for writer and disks.

  4. Dabs are currently selling the LG 4081B which will do dvd + and -, DVDRAM and also write CD's. Just a touch over £103 with delivery. Everything you could ever want in one drive!

  5. Lite-on. That's all I use, and have been using for all my optical drives for many years now. The 411S with the dual +R/-R capabilities is a steal.

I would go with a Pioneer. I have 3 of them on 3 different systems and I have never made a coaster. I use Ritek media, it is the best as you can see from various posts....[/img]

  7. I dont know how much £100 is, but the Optorite DD0401 is an awsome writer, for $140 USD. Oh yeah.

  8. I would recommend the Pioneer . I am a complete novice at burning DVDs , but not a single coaster produced since I got this hardware at Christmas.
