pioneer e50 help

Hi there
Ive bought a panasonic e50 and seem to be getting a lot of disc errors,im hoping its the media im using,can anyone advise the the best media to use,i must amit ive not been using top brand discs like panosonic/tdk/ect,ive just started using ritek,used 3 up to now and no problem,but ive had little luck with datawrite 4x.
Thats the other thing i cant seem to find out,does anyone know if you can use any speed dvd-r,ive read the manual and looked all over the web,including this site,but just cant find anything.
I have read quite a lot about media on this site,but there is so many kinds of media.

If your having media problem's take it back I have a Panasonic E80H and it take's any brand I put in it. I got mine at www.6ave.com cheapest price in town.

I had e20 and it loved the compusa 1x dvd-r brand with no problems.Now that I have the E80-H it also uses the same media with no trouble and finally I ran out one time and tried princos and to my surprise they also worked very well..
