Using premiere pro & the mainconcept mpeg2 encoder included with it, I have been trying to re-encode a source *.m2v file, but everytime I do it, I get a picture that is squeezed on both sides (making the people in the shot taller) and black bars on the left/right.
The source is from Woody Allen's Manhattan (just a scene), and is a native DVD clip (.m2v). I just added fade in/out for the clip. The mainconcept encoder is supposed to have smart rendering, so it only re-encodes the edited part of the mpeg...but from the time its taking to encode the 4 minute clip, it must be doing it all.
After reading the premiere pro forum over at adobe, I picked up that the project settings I start with might be affected my outcome...thing is I have picked the settings I thought were right (and tried every combination I could think of). It's a DVD source...
Has anyone encountered this...need help despearately.
