  1. Can anyone help me? I'm confused. I have a 2 hours and 40 minutes MPeg2 file which is 3.7 GB in size. When I drop this onto Toast 6 to burn I get an error telling me there is not enough room on the disc and that I need 4.6 GB!!! This can't be right. I have burned some video that is aroun 2.5 GB no problem. I'm only using an imac 500 mhz with 12 GB hard drive space left running Panther but I cant see that this is the issue as i've already captured the video. Help!

what version of 6.0.x do you have
i was under the assumption the latest would not re-encode mpeg files as long as they were standard format

it could be that your file is not standard format, and toast is re-encoding it and you get a dvd thats is just a hair over 4.4

not to worry, you can do the following

    1. let it process the mpeg file but rather than buring to a disk, save the image to the HD
    2. test the size of the image (sometimes its less than 4.4 and you can then burn it)
    3. if still over, use dvd2one to shrink it down a hair to be 4.4

    Sizzle
Rather than letting toast process the file you can use Sizzle to compile a new dvd image from the mpeg file
if you dont know how to use sizzle, refer to STEP 5 of this tutorial which walks you though a mpeg file import to sizzle and how to build the image
