  2. If you're using a jpg picture for menu background, you can use TMPGEnc encoder to add music to it and make it into an mpg file. Then you can add the mpg as your menu background. You can also any other mpg file, such as motion loops. Use your editing software or your TMPGEnc to add audio if you want.

  3. I've been trying to create this small mpg in Tmpgenc, but I'm only getting the audio. When I try to play the mpeg in WMP, I hear the music, but don't see the JPG. Any ideas?

  4. Can you post a screenshot so we can see your settings?

  5. On TMPGEnd's main screen, make sure you have the System (Video+Audio) button checked.

Then from the File menu, click on MPEG Tools, then Merge & Cut tab. Make sure you "Add" the Jpg picture, and then add the audio file. Select you output file name and location, then hit "Run". It should work.

  6. I tried the settings you suggested, falberni, under mpeg tools, but I get the response, "*.jpg is not an mpeg". When I go to merge and cut, I use Mpeg-2 VBR (not the SVCD one), I add the jpg and the music file, enter a destination and filename, and hit run. I then get the aforementioned response. I've also tried just going from the main screen, entering the info in the lower portion of the screen, ie. video source, audio source and destination. I then load the NTFS DVD template under the "Setting" button, and it still comes out exactly the same, audio is fine, but with a black screen. I am using a 1024x768 jpg. Does that have anything to do with it? Thanks for the response so far.

  7. Okay, here's your problem. Skip the part about loading the NTFS DVD template. You're already specifying MPEG2 VBR in the Merge & Cut screen. While in that screen, add the jpg, and the audio file, and then specify the output file, and then hit the run buttonat the buttom of the same screen.

  8. I already tried that, and that's when I'm told that my jpg is not a valid mpeg.

I got it to work no problem in TMPGenc DVD Author -used "ShowBiz" to generate the mpeg...

There's another problem, though. Once you've made the mpeg with the music, you have to choose a "recycle time" (or something -not sure of the real name) ...this is the time that your music/video will "play" before returning to start. The problem is that it's typically a short time (it's a global setting that applies to all menus/buttons). Music that replays over and over again like this is likely to sound like a "broken record" - it's more annoying than pleasing. I don't think there's a workaround for this...
