I have recently converted an avi to mpegII using Sonic DVDit PE, after a while the audio loses sync with the video and the DVD freezes, any ideas would be appreciated.

What is the source of your file, details ?
Have you checked for bad frames ? -
640x352, audio = bit rate 95kbps, Mpeg Layer-3, video = 23fps, 128kbps, 24bit, dixv(r) codec.
Hope that helps -

Everything is fine, surely if the audio/video is ok in the original file, it must be the way Sonic is handling the data, the reason I use it is that it's meant to be a one stop shop, even tells you prior to conversion if it will fit.
