  1. I have just built a new pc and everything is performing as expected except when I try to play DVDs.
The DVD always skips slightly every 10 seconds or so.
I have tried everything I can think of but nothing has solved the problem.
I've checked the drive has DMA mode enabled, replaced the IDE cable, installed all the latest drivers and used various different software (ATI player, PowerDVD and Windows Media Player) to play the DVDs (all give same results).
The drive writes ok, but won't playback properly. I tried another drive which I know works from my old machine and it has the same problem in the new machine.
Can anyone help? I am very slowly going mad. :/
