  1. I use TMPEGEnc DVD Author. Sometimes i get this error
not correct resolution 480x480 etc... is there a way i can tell if the file that i'm going to download is ready to be author with TMPEGEnc DVD Author or will i have to encode with TMPEGEnc plus?

  2. I take it you are downloading from Kazaa or somewhere. Unless there is something in the filename you will not know. You will need to reencode to the correct resolution.

However if you are using Kazaa make a copy of the file while it is downloading and open it in virtualdub, go file details and this will tell you the resoultion. This will only work on p2p where it downloads the file in it's proper format from the beginning not like mule or donkey which downloads in parts.

Just gotta take your chances and re-encode since they are free to begin with.

  4. no reencoding is needed! that's a waste of time!
there is a patcher programme that sets the frames of your mpg file fast to 720x576 or any other resolution you want.
Then after making the DVD you use the same programme to set the
    resolution back to 480x480.
It's fast en you will get no quality loss. The actual resolution is not
changed, only a a few bytes per frame are set and later reset.
I think the link to that programme is somewhere on this site, under tools.
