I use Xcopy platninum,Decryptor, DVD Shrink, and Nero 6 to make my copies. My discs burn fine and playback fine...at least for the first few times. But sometimes it may start to skip or freeze half way through. Also, some show an error "Disc may be dirty" when its inserted and won't play at all...now remember..I've just played the same discs in the same player before w/o any problems. Why do they work fine at first but may have issues later? There are no scratches or anything on these discs.

This may not be related but, my copy of Pirates of the Carr. was watched 3-4 times and played fine. After the 1st viewing, I made a label for it. The last time it was watched, it began to skip and freeze. I took the disc out and removed the label...I haven't had a problem with it since.

Someone please tell me what's up!

    thanks,
    Nate

could be the quality of the media your using. trying burning slower, changing disc brands, and dont label anything.

1 other thing..I've used Memorex 4x, Imation 2x, TDK 2x, and Certified 4x brands of media...so far they all do the same. Sometimes they play sometimes they don't.
Also, I have a sony DVD player and an APEX DVD player..both giving the same results as noted earlier.
