Hello guys I hope this is the right forum. I am having problems with regular dvd's playing in my players. These are not dvd-r or +r just regular dvd's you buy in the store. I know about all the stuff with dvd compatability with the burnt stuff but not been able to get info on pressed media. These dvd's have no scratches on them they are stored in there dvd cases they came inside my closet. They are Zoids dvd's made by vision media if that helps. I have problems where some with pause and break up in my Magnavox cheapy player and my playstation 2. They never did that before. I have not really had problems with pressed media till now. What could be causing this problem with the media? I am going to try to back them up and shrink them but still like to have my originals working though. I am beginning to wonder if pressed media is no better then burnt media and can give me the same problems. Can anyone point me to any info on pressed media and problems with them? Thanks and sorry if in the wrong forum.

More likely your players are just getting old or dirty. Do they sit in a dusty environment ? Does anyone in the house smoke ? Do you have an open fireplace ?

Nope no one smokes, don't have a fire place. My players are in my bedroom. I have no problems with other pressed dvd's only these few that I have played so far. I have had this problem with reall scratched ones before but that can be understood. Mine don't have any scratches on them what so ever. Maybe I am just going to have to face the fact pressed media goes bad over time.
