How do I backup a region 2 dvd movie so it can be played in a region 1 dvd player?

if your dvd player is multisystem, you should have no problems.
if its a dvd5;
rip with dvd decrypter in iso/read mode & then write in iso/write mode
if its a dvd9;
rip with dvd decrypter in file mode & then transcode with a varity of programs

nero record
dvd shrink
clonedvd
pinaccle instacopy
there are many to choose from, once you've transcoded just burn the files to a dvdr.. i like recordnow max..
as long as your dvd player will display a pal dvd on an ntsc tv correctly, you should have no problems.
