This may sound like a DUH question but I'm gonna ask it anyway. Would I be able to capture directly from a digital cable box? I would like to capture directly instead of recording to vhs then to convert through my canopus advc-100. I was thinking capturing directly would be better because the video resolution would be clearer compared to a vhs tape. I would appreciate any help with this question. Thanks in advance.

I capture direct from my video cable box to my ATI AIW 9000pro. I use left and right audio and composite video in.

Got my digital cablebox today. I didn't realize the digital box had a/v outputs. Now I can capture directly from digital box to my canopus advc-100. I'm a happy camper! Go me! LOL!

    "a/v outputs"

Isn't that how you hook it up to your TV? They are analog outputs, not digital. Maybe that's the confusion.
